I'm curious as to why a number of Curse members were sending evemails to people in Great Wildlands telling them they were in Curse Alliance Territory.

Not very well claimed, my corps been in GW for quite some time and as far as we've seen 2 or 3 CA members at a time till yesterday.
Then again from what I was hearing GWP was chasing them around after several CA tried a lil piracy.

You wont find any posts about the GWP "claiming" Great Wildlands, most the corps in it have been mining/hunting in GW for 4+ months and initally created the pact incase someone got in trouble solo hunting npcs.
Given its lack of natural resources and stations GW is largely ignored but has one important asset a backdoor into Curse.
Given the rise of player pirates in GW the GWP extended its mandate to cover campers and player pirates.
Unlike most regions GWP lets anyone pass through/hunt/mine as long as they dont shoot other players.

The removal of player pirates from jumpgates doesnt make you a carebear just someone who clears gates for your indys to pass through unmolested.

scorpion + rupture vs tempest which was busy in a npc fight.

End of day scorpion was engaged at the gate a further 2x each time the scopion didn't do much damage although did lose its own shields :p, it did however waste hundreds of cruise missiles for what, doing 25% armour damage total?
That fight was always controlled by Tempest pilot and the scorp pilot needs some advice with his setup :p.
Your just lucky you didnt stick around long enough for backup to arrive.

Interesting so fact GWP has been in existance in one form or another for over 5 months and never had that many CA hang around GW due to a large lack of stations or good ore.
Scalding Pass I would personally consider GWP territory given its larger presence there compared to occasional CA pirate camping a jumpin or your multiple mining ops.
Yet flying through there I found 6 CA total, none would engage me and my corp mates had exactly same experience in other systems all they did was warp and hide.
A certain CA member and his rupture even ran away from a Vexor that was in a system solo.
The mighty CA lol.

Fight #1: Tempest FLEES after MWDing 75km away, half structure. Fight #2: Tempest loses MORE structure, MWD's away again. Fight #3: See #2. I give up trying to chase Captain Carebear around, since he's obviously a relative of Scragg, Bach, Fubie, Flum, or any other Curse Coalition **** who runs 1st chance they get from a fight.

Firstly the Tempest wasn't using his MWD in combat, secondly you obviously have no idea how projectile guns work, you do not close on someone when your guns have a range of 20-70km, thirdly you did 18% armour damage and never even touched its structure, forthly your ship looked suspisously like a Scorpion to me when you left.
:p
Final point when chain spawning you need different setups from PVP yet your flying a ship which main use is for PVP so is already stacked in your favour.

Try looking at your own corp mates chain spawning 1-2 systems away from there and yet when I warp in to engage they run like hell, 2 battleships vs me and they **** themselves.

Its not called running its called getting to optimal combat range, maybe he should have just flown closer to you so your missiles took less time to hit?
I can hit well with Large Projectiles at 60km, well out of range of warp scramblers and webbers, why should I fly nearer than 20k of a ship in combat if thats the fall off of a 1400mm artillery?
Tempest didnt run three times. the first instance you and your mate jumped him in the roid belt when he was npc farming and came out of warp 10km away from him.
Option 1: Fight it out against 2 ships plus NPCs having taken some shield dmg from NPC missiles already.
Option 2: Make a strategic retreat and engage at range.
Option 3: Reload on ammo at cache in system and fix shields and camp gate.
He takes option 3 and finds your buddy already there, few vollys later your friend runs away. Your battleship warps in and starts offloading cruise missiles, tempest not knowing cruise missile flicks on some abs and banks on his ships speed and overdrives to carry him out of range of your missiles and still in effective combat range, accidently getting out of his lock range on you by forgetting to turn abs off.
Tempest pilot meanwhile is chatting to corp mates on TS and they decide Tempest shall delay you and let you waste your missiles while a fleet is sent your way, after taking a small ammount of amour damage the Tempest warps away to let his shields recover and see how many more of your cruise missiles to waste.
At which point you start whining in local saying he is a coward etc blah blah blah.
Once Tempest shields recover he warps back to the gate and engages you again (meanwhile we're taking the **** out of you on TS) watches you waste a few hundred more cruise missiles (shoots down a few for a laugh as well) and then warps away to recharge shields again.
Then I guess you checked the map and noticed 4 other ships headed your way 3 jumps away, at which point you ran.
Clearly our Tempest pilot should have let you destroy his ship in the belt in for instance and you should have waited for our fleet to arrive and wipe you out.
Clearleh you suck at pvp and are a coward because you wouldnt stick around, or maybe your just an idiot.
